All you need to do is list your homes now and apply Branding so you can get the best bang for your buck as our traffic increases throughout  January!

So why is this the perfect time? Starting December 26th, web traffic on MHVillage starts to ramp up!

In this time the traffic on the site will increase to over and above the highest traffic day in the previous summer!

Just like in any other shopping medium consumers will form their own patterns and trends.     As we all know, shopping malls, movie theaters and restaurants all see a huge boost the week up to and during the holiday season. Over at MHVillage we see this same increase the weeks following the holiday season!

Now, we are not implying that December 26th everyone is online looking for their next mobile home. We mean that consistently, traffic increases from that date and then stays that way as we welcome the new year.

Also, this isn’t a traffic spike, it doesn’t shoot up and then shoot back down. It literally begins to ramp up and set the baseline for the rest of the year.

Another fun fact? This happens every single year! So much so, that internally our technical department starts gearing up for this increase in November to be sure we are ready.

So the next question is, are YOU ready? 

One of the benefits of the housing market being slower during the holidays, is it can give you time to gear up for the increase in your business too. This when you can be sure you are staffed properly and any home or community maintenance or necessary documentation can be updated and ready to go for your customers. Also, it’s the perfect time to be sure that your online marketing it updated and ready too!

Speaking of online marketing, in the next week, here are 5 things you should do on MHVillage:

    1. Make sure your entire inventory is online. I suggest this one a lot, but it is for a simple reason: more home listings = more leads. Remember, Basic listings are free, so it doesn’t cost you anything to get all your homes up and online.
    2. Make your Sales Center page Pro+. This one will cost you a little extra if you don’t already have a Pro+ account. Once you’ve upgraded your account, be sure and add a link to your logos and website. This will not only allow the MHVillage buyers to click over to your site, it will also help in how your company website shows in Google searches.
    3. If you have a Community, make it a Showcase. Again, this will cost a bit,  but you want to look your best to all the buyers. Also, home shoppers do not need to log in to view Showcased communities, so that means more people are going to see your information.
    4. Review your own website. Once you’ve put links to your site from MHVillage on your listings, Sales Center page and Community, click over and look at your website as a buyer would. Is your website up to date? Is the contact information easy to find? Is there an online form for them to get more information?
    5. Take advantage of our Free Branding until Feb 28th for the homes you add to the site. When you apply this you can completely dominate your listings, removing all other ads and adding all your own information.

Champion Home Builders Names New Leadership

Mark Yost to lead U.S. Operations

TROY, Mich., November 1, 2016 – Champion Home Builders, Inc., a leading producer of manufactured homes and modular structures, announced today the appointment of Mark Yost as its President. The Company also named Laurie Hough as Sr. Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and Timothy Burkhardt as Vice President and Controller.

Yost has served as Chief Financial Officer for Champion since 2013. Prior to joining Champion, he served as CFO and EVP for Severstal North America, a major steelmaker based in Dearborn, MI. In announcing these promotions, Keith Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of Champion said, “Mark, Laurie and Tim’s combined experiences in operations and financial management coupled with their passion for serving the needs of our customers will serve the Company well as they lead our growth and expansion efforts in the U.S.” As part of the realignment, non-U.S. housing operations, including Star Fleet Trucking and Canadian and U.K. operations, will continue to report to Anderson.

Yost received his BS degree in finance and his MBA from the University of Michigan. He received Crain’s Detroit 2012 Business CFO of the Year award for his accomplishments at Severstal.

Hough joined Champion in 2010 as Vice President, Accounting and Financial Reporting, and was promoted to VP and Controller in 2012. She previously held the positions of Manager of Financial Consolidations at Chrysler Group LLC and Audit Manager at PwC. Hough is a licensed CPA and obtained her BS in Accounting from Oakland University.

Burkhardt was named Director of Financial Reporting at Champion in 2012. He held previous financial positions with Asset Acceptance Capital Corp., Chrysler and BDO Seidman, LLP. The educational seminars for the 2017 Show will be expanded from just two days to all three days of the Show, along with moving the seminars so they are held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. each day. This expansion and revised schedule will result in 6 seminars/workshops during the Show and give attendees more time to visit and see the homes and exhibits, while also providing more meaningful and relevant strategic information to attendees.

The seminars/workshops will also focus on bringing in “more outside-the-industry” experts who can provide really important, strategic information on key initiatives that attendees need to adopt to be more successful in their day-to-day business activities. The seminars will progress from the basics of marketing and advertising on the first day of the Show, to sales and financing strategies on the second day, to the third day’s look at what national issues and trends the industry needs to anticipate and incorporate into its marketplace strategies. The Crowne Plaza Hotel will again serve at the Show headquarters hotel. The Crowne Plaza is located directly across the street from the Kentucky Exposition Center, and is a mere three minutes from the Louisville Airport, There is ample, safe parking at the Kentucky Exposition Center and there could not be a more convenient show site.

Timing is critically important as January is a prime time for The Louisville Show, as builder/developers, retailers, community owners/operators and installers want to place orders and have inventory delivered in time for the early selling season. This schedule allows everyone the time to investigate and compare competing manufacturers and supplier exhibitors.

The Louisville Show will once again use QMS of Alpharetta, GA to facilitate our online registration system. Their web link service provides fast and efficient registration both before and during the Show.

Louisville Manufactured Housing Show Expands to Meet Industry Needs

2017 Louisville Manufactured Housing Show Set for January 18-20, 2017

The need for insightful, accurate and forward-looking information about the manufactured Louisville Showhousing industry is the driving force behind recently announced plans for the 2017 Manufactured Housing Show in Louisville, KY. The 2017 Show will be held January 18-20 at the Kentucky Exposition Center and will feature more homes on display, along with more efficient space for service and supplier exhibits. An expanded schedule providing a full range of educational seminars is also being added to the 2017 program to offer greater business opportunities to attendees.

The Show is sponsored by the Midwest Housing Federation, including its five member organizations: the Illinois Manufactured Housing Association, the Indiana Manufactured Housing Association, the Kentucky Manufactured Housing Institute, the Michigan Manufactured Housing Association, and the Ohio Manufactured Homes Association.

Leaders of the industry’s retail, builders/developers, installation, and community management sectors will share their experiences and knowledge about all levels of affordable homes, from HUD-Code homes to spectacular systems-built housing.

The 2017 Show will be held at the Kentucky Exposition Center, with the Crowne Plaza Hotel serving at the Show headquarters hotel. “With the Louisville Airport a mere 3 minutes from the Exposition Center, there is not a more convenient show site,” Hill noted. “The people attending the Louisville Manufactured Housing Show are motivated to purchase homes and services,” Hill stated. “They have invested their time and money to be part of this unique show and they are decision-makers or have the ear of decision-makers.
